Guide

Your city, one photo at a time.

My Walks turns a stroll into a photo journal. Snap the spots that catch your eye and Citypedia remembers each one — what it looked like, where it was, and when.

1

Mark a spot

Tap the round camera button on the map and take a photo. The spot is saved with its location automatically — one tap, no typing.

2

Walks and snaps

Start a walk to group the photos from one outing together. Photos you take without an active walk are kept as loose snaps, sorted by day — bundle a day into a walk anytime with “Make walk”.

3

Notes and details

Open any spot to see the full photo, its place name and the time you took it. Add a note to remember why it caught your eye.

4

Replay your walk

Press play on a walk to watch it back as a story — every photo in the order you took it, with its place and time.

5

See spots on the map

Every located spot becomes a pin. Open the spots map to see them all, and use “Show on map” to choose which walks appear on the main map.

6

Ask AI what you see

Not sure what a building or statue is? Tap “What is this? Ask AI” on a spot and Citypedia tries to identify it and tell its story. Requires your own AI key in Settings.

7

Share and export

Share a walk as a lightweight map file, or as a full export with every photo — handy for backing up or sending to a friend.

Where your walks live

Your walks, your photos and your notes are stored on the device. We get no copy of them: there is no walk syncing, and nothing about a walk reaches our servers unless you share or export it yourself.

Two things do leave the app, and both are worth knowing. Walk photos are also saved to your device's own photo library unless you turn that off in Settings, which means they are in whatever backup your phone already does. And “What is this? Ask AI” sends that photo, along with the spot's coordinates and address, to the AI provider whose key you added — the coordinates also go to Wikipedia, to find articles near that point. No copy of any of it comes to us.

The privacy policy goes through this field by field.

Free on iPhone, iPad and Android. If you spot something the map has wrong while you are out, you can fix that too.
